ABOUT ANGUILLA

The Caribbean's Best-Kept Secret

Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory just 8 miles north of Sint Maarten. The island is known for its 33 beaches, crystal-clear water, and a relaxed pace that feels a world away from the cruise ship crowds of SXM.

Shoal Bay East has appeared on nearly every "best beach in the Caribbean" list for 20 years. The reef along the southern end of the bay is one of the healthiest we visit — good turtle sightings most mornings before 10 am.

Captain Marcus has been running the SXM-to-Anguilla crossing since 2009. He knows the tide windows, the best customs queue times, and which beach clubs will actually have your table ready.

Anguilla Trip Questions

How long is the crossing?

Approximately 30 minutes from Simpson Bay in normal conditions. From Marigot on the French side it is closer to 20 minutes. The crossing is generally calm, though morning departures see smoother seas.

Do I need a passport?

Yes — a valid passport is required to enter Anguilla. All visitors also pay an Anguilla departure tax of $22 USD per person. Our captain handles the customs forms for the group.

What is the best beach in Anguilla for a day trip?

Shoal Bay East is the most popular — two miles of white sand with a reef for snorkeling right off the beach. Rendezvous Bay is excellent for beach club lunches. Captain Marcus recommends arriving early to anchor before the daily ferries.

What is included in the Anguilla day trip?

The charter includes a licensed captain, fuel, snorkel gear, and a cooler with soft drinks and water. Lunch, departure taxes, and any beach club fees are separate unless you book the all-inclusive package.

Can we snorkel in Anguilla?

Yes. Shoal Bay has a healthy reef directly off the beach. Little Bay is a hidden cove accessible only by boat with excellent underwater visibility. We provide full snorkel sets for the group.
