EXPERIENCE
Private Sunset Cruise in Sint Maarten
Three hours on the water as the sky turns orange behind Saint Martin. Private charter — no strangers, no shared deck. Up to 12 guests. From $1,200.
THE EXPERIENCE
Sint Maarten at Its Best
The west coast of Sint Maarten faces Saint Martin, meaning sunsets here are framed by forested hills rather than open water. The light hits Marigot Bay and Friar's Bay in a way that photographers chase from October through April.
Captain Jean-Luc grew up in Marigot and has run this route hundreds of times. He knows exactly when to leave Simpson Bay, where to anchor for the best view, and which direction the wind is coming from for a smooth return.
The boat is yours for the full 3 hours. Bring music, bring your own food, add the open bar. Or just sit on the foredeck with a cold drink and watch one of the best free shows in the Caribbean.

Sunset Cruise Questions
What time does the sunset cruise depart?
Typically 4:30 pm from Simpson Bay Marina, returning around 7:30 pm. We confirm your exact departure time based on the sunset for your date — it varies about 30 minutes across the year.
Is alcohol included?
Soft drinks and water are always included. An open-bar upgrade — beer, rum punch, white wine, and rosé — is $25 per person and must be added at the time of booking.
Where does the cruise go?
We head west along the French side coastline, past Marigot Bay toward Friar's Bay and Cupecoy. The sun drops behind the hills of Saint Martin from this direction, which gives the best colours. On calm evenings we may anchor off Grand Case for 30 minutes.
Can we do a sunset cruise and then dinner ashore?
Yes — we can drop you at Grand Case pier at the end of the cruise for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants on the "Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean." Captain Jean-Luc can recommend reservations.
Is the sunset cruise suitable for children?
Yes. Children are welcome on all sunset cruises. We carry child-appropriate life jackets and the boat speed is gentle. Most families find the 3-hour duration manageable for kids 5 and up.
