Species Guide
Mahi-Mahi
Peak: Dec–AprThe most targeted species from Sint Maarten. Fast, acrobatic, and excellent eating. Found in deeper offshore water and around floating debris.
Wahoo
Peak: Dec–AprOne of the fastest fish in the ocean. Caught trolling at speed in open Atlantic water north and east of the island.
Yellowfin Tuna
Year-roundFound in deep water offshore. A serious target for anglers — powerful runs and excellent table quality.
Blue Marlin
Peak: May–OctThe ultimate Caribbean gamefish. Sint Maarten sits in productive Atlantic water with regular marlin sightings from late spring through summer.
Snapper & Grouper

Barracuda

What fish can I catch in Sint Maarten?
Mahi-mahi, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, and blue marlin in offshore water. Snapper, grouper, and barracuda on reef fishing closer to shore.
What is the best time of year to fish?
Fishing is good year-round. Mahi-mahi and wahoo peak December through April. Blue marlin and sailfish are most active May through October. Reef fishing is consistent throughout the year.
Is equipment provided?
Yes. All rods, reels, lures, and tackle are included. A fishing licence is included in the charter price. You do not need to bring any gear.
Can I keep my catch?
Yes. You are welcome to keep the fish. We can arrange filleting at the marina, and several local restaurants will cook your catch — ask us for recommendations when you book.
Do I need fishing experience?
No. Our captains will guide you through technique, baiting, and handling. Beginners are welcome. If you are an experienced angler, just let us know when you book and we can tailor the trip.
