Sint Maarten to Gustavia is a short open-ocean crossing. Conditions are typically calm in the morning — we depart early and return before the afternoon trades pick up.

Full day in St. Barths

5–6 hours ashore in Gustavia. Lunch at the harbour, a walk to Shell Beach, boutique shopping in town, or simply exploring the French-Caribbean village on foot.

Snorkeling stop included

On the return leg we anchor off one of the reefs between St. Barths and SXM for a snorkeling stop. Gear is provided on board.

How long is the boat ride from Sint Maarten to St. Barths?

Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on sea conditions and the vessel. We depart from Simpson Bay Marina early morning to make the most of your time ashore.

Do I need a passport to go to St. Barths?

Yes. St. Barths is a French overseas collectivity. You must present a valid passport at customs in Gustavia. US, EU, and UK citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days.

What is there to do in St. Barths on a day trip?

Gustavia has some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean, boutique shopping, and a beautiful harbour to explore. Shell Beach is a 10-minute walk from the customs dock. A full day gives you 5–6 hours ashore.

What boat do you recommend for the crossing?

The Sunreef 60 catamaran. Its wide beam makes for a comfortable ride in Atlantic swell, and the large deck gives everyone room to relax on the way over.

Are customs fees included?

French customs fees in Gustavia are paid on arrival and are not included in the charter. Fees are typically a small flat amount per person and are settled directly at the customs office.
